Verizon preorders start June 6

I would assume it will too. The Nexus is 6 months old, which is about the time devs get a bit itchy for something new. And there's nothing else comparable on the horizon. It's gonna be the best phone on Verizon for a while, unless HTC has something up its sleeve.

Rumor is that HTC will release a galaxy note type device on Verizon that's the something up their sleeve you could be referring to

Wow... great news.

I just bought a RAZR Maxx off contract two days ago. Looks like it will be going back and I will be using my backup Bionic for a couple of weeks.

my upgrade is not coming due until June 22nd. I want to pre-order on June 6th, does anyone know if Verizon will bump up my upgrade by a few weeks???

I just called and they gave me early upgrade eligibility. So basically I can pre order on the sixth even though my upgrade isn't until the 14th. I just miss out on an extra $30 discount. However he did tell me that the new contract doesn't start until I activate the phone so it sounds like if they decide to switch to tiered plans between ordering and activation, then there's a chance we're SOL

Just got my Nexus thinking the SIII would be 300. Nexus is going back, can't wait for this one! Nexus is a great phone making the SIII look promising to me. Also, I hope Verizon sees that 300 (330 with upgrade fee) for a phone on contract is too much!

I've got a spare Class 10 32gb card lying around.... go for the 16gb and save $50??

I believe ICS has what's called unified storage (no separate partitions for apps and storage). So unless you plan on installing more than 12 or 13gb of apps (highly unlikely), it probably makes financial sense to go with the 16gb and using the sd card for storage. Having said that, $50 for double the memory is still relatively cheap so I plan on ordering the 32gb version.

How will the 32gb be configured? 32gb onboard, or 16gb onboard with 16gb card?

The 16gb will be the same phone without the 16gb card?

I'm kinda skeptical they will hold with it but you never know

Yeah, I emailed customer service for exactly this reason. I want it by email saying yes or no.

Going to wait and see what the reviews say and if it has the same issues as the nexus then I will pass. Hopefully Samsung figured it out and hopefully with all 4 carriers looking the same that will help with updates getting out faster.

For what its worth, I just go off the phone with a Verizon rep named Andreas (#58035). He said the below:

"During the preorder, make a plan selection. The selection doesnt matter. When you receive the phone, call customer service for activation. Tell them you were on the unlimited plan, and they will make sure that it is kept on your account"

I am going to follow this up with an email as well... you know, in writing and all... but here's to hoping that we all get to keep that sweet sweet unlimited plan.

Fingers crossed, all.

From the VZW forums, re Unlimited data: You have 14 days to request it (unlimited data) be reinstated. If you don't already have unlimited, you can't get it. It was discontinued last summer. If you currently have unlimited and upgrade to a 4G phone, call *611 immediately after you upgrade and request they reinstate your unlimited data plan.
