Verizon raising the price for Unlimited Data Plan by $20 after November 15, 2015

Is this a new deal you got?

I use wifi at home and work but sometimes it's slow and just doesn't connect so I like not having to worry with unlimited.

I said I would never leave unlimited but then I realized I didn't need it and saved $50/month with my new plan. Then they had a promo for double data for same price and I jumped on that. I barely hit 10GB/month and my wife uses around 3-4 and my father uses 1-2. I'm on a 20GB plan but doubled to 40GB.

When was this deal? That could make me give up my udp

On VZW? I don't know what plan you speak of.

Yes, but at least in some ways, we can sign up for new voice plans with unlimited talk and text vs the limited minutes we have now.
Useless to me. It is data I need. 20 gb shared family would be plenty for me but the only plan I know if would cost me MORE than my current udp.

Why it confuses me is even the current 10 gb plan costs MORE than I pay for udp not less.

Yeah the unlimited plan was a very good deal due to.. Well unlimited data and the price wasn't expensive. They switched to tiered plans to get more money.

All the carriers do this. For example, My buddy is paying $5/ mo for the unlimited data portion of his tmobile bill on his ancient plan . Currently, just the up charge from unlimited data with 2gb high speed to unlimited data, high speed is $45 on tmobile.

Oh I know.. I didn't say they all didn't do it. I was simply replying to the quote as to why this is :).

I don't use the data more than for data updates, only need the Unlimited Data when traveling, no one is sharing my data. Eventually prices will come down, phone bill is way cheaper now than when it was for me in 1996 which had unlimited nights and weekend calling, 100 anytime minutes and no data. Not to mention, I can fully write 100% of what I pay off so it's technically free as otherwise I would be paying that same amount in taxes.

Wow. In 1996 I paid $11.50 a month plus taxes etc. Quite a bit less than now. It was an old corporate plan left over from the days of Motorola analog flip phones.I don't recall how many minutes I got but I never went over....and the buttons beeped when pushed just like old land lines!

So I just wanted to confirm. The 100 txt or 100 min loyalty promo 1 year extension doesn't stack to my current contract? My contract ends 9/2016. So should I call about the extension maybe 8/2016 to make the most of out my extension? Also I have unlimited txt so how does that work when asking for the 100 txt? I'm trying to save the 100 min promo for when after the 1 year extension is done.

So did anyone ever get the $20 hike? I don't have to worry about it until Nov 2017. Meanwhile I'll enjoy my Nexus 6P and my UDP.

Do you know when the promotiin to extend contract expires? My contract ends end of the year and I was going to call a few weeks before then to maximize the length.

I just tried once by calling and once by chat and they didn't have the promotion for me. Should I keep trying? I'm on the nationwide 700 min family plan.
