Verizon - Release Date Prediction for HTC One - Phil - You should give a prize to winner

The longer Verizon takes, the bigger my hatred gets for them. If I didn't just get a job that I will ensure I need to strictly budget my money (I'm not complaining - I was desperate for a teaching job) I would switch carriers and get the One somewhere else. Verizon sucks. Let's make an announcement, get people excited, and then just sit on our hands and not do anything. Maddening.

I say go ahead and trade your phone into ATT and get the One. Do you need Verizon?

I understand and know the frustration but in all fairness to VZW; they have been doing this for years now, so it cant be a surprise to anyone. I get too good of a deal ATM to even consider switching but I applaud others that do, its only increased competition that will likely make them change their ways.

No, I don't need Verizon. But it would be foolish of me to switch, despite AT&T's coverage being "good" in rural Arizona where I am moving next month. Verizon's coverage is better. I'm on a family plan with my parents and brother and pay significantly less a month for my line than I would if I went out on my own with AT&T. I know this is nothing new when it comes to Verizon, but my parents have had them for like 7-8 years.

Yeah if that's the case then it would be hard to part with the coverage that you've been used to for a while.

Hoping that the delayed Verizon version will have some special feature(s) that sets it apart. Quick Charge for faster charging? Android 4.3? Wireless charging?

Whatever it is, I definitely think Verizon messed up this release. If they wait until end of August or beginning of September to release it, the question then becomes would I prefer to get a 6-month old HTC One, or wait one more month for a brand new iPhone 5S. As a person who likes the newest available tech at time I make my purchase, I'd have to strongly consider waiting for the iPhone. They'd make my decision much easier if they just release it in the next week or so!!

I think the only chance the iphone has to compete with this is maybe the IP6 in a possibly larger size than the 5. Otherwise, apples and oranges.

Actually I prefer a 4"-4.3" phone over a 4.7"-5" phone. I know it's apples and oranges, I'm just weird in that I like the newest apple or the newest orange lol. I'm not trying to start an Android vs. iPhone debate. I was just saying Verizon would make it easier for me to choose the One if they release in a couple weeks rather than in a couple of months.

On topic, July 18. No reason whatsoever. I'm just throwing it out there.

PM me for my mailing address. I want my HTC One case bedazzled with my name on it.

The One is pegged for release "later this summer" while the upcoming iPhone model will be a fall release, at the earliest. You won't see a new iPhone this summer, not even close.

I'm going to say it'll be out September 21, 2013. I figured this day because the first day of Fall is September 22, 2013. Can I have my prize now?

I'm guessing maybe a July 18 release or so. And I think that's being hopeful. I just hope they just tell us soon so I can stop worrying. It's kind of ridiculous how botched this release is. Getting one of the best smartphones 4 months late is ridiculous in itself but messing up the release this badly is unthinkable.

I looked at a One at the AT&T store yesterday....very nice. Handled a black one with 64GB memory. My main worry here is that Verizon will only offer a 16GB version or may be just a 32GB version and no 64GB.

I don't think they make a 16 gb one. However, I think the 64 is supposed to be exclusive to AT&T, so I think verizon might be stuck with a 32 only. That isn't a problem for me; I'm using a 16 gb 4s and I'm just about full so another 14 or 15 gigs (actual storage) will be perfect.

The 16GB one will be a Verizon exclusive lol

Yeah, I'd have to ditch Verizon, sell the unlimited plan, and go to a new carrier.

The reason I think the 16GB HTC One could possibly happen, Verizon hasn't released an android phone with more than 16GB this year. 0 phones this year. To try and push their cloud? To try and increase revenue on their data plans? I don't know, but something to think about.
