Verizon release date

Shiva, I noticed u said "newer version", and I thought that might be an interesting point. But IMO, whatever newer verion would be in software advancement. I don't see them changing the hardware look per as. And at that point the current edge could just be updated. The only real advancement I see would be a higher resolution for the side panel

Anybody else see this from coupons com/coupon-codes/verizon-wireless/

Save $50 Off Select Devices
The $50 offer is available to new activations, AAL (new lines of service on existing accounts) and upgrades. Cannot be combined with any other offers. Excludes iPhones, Bundles, Tablets & Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Moto X & Moto X Maker. To get $50 off an eligible device, enter the promo code at checkout and the discount will apply within the cart.

It specifically names the note edge and there is an advertisement for the coupon code on Verizon's website. Expires the end of the year.

I think that just shows they planned on it being dropped when they created the marketing strategy of the coupon. Those strategy's are done well in advance. I don't think it means it will drop between now and Jan 1. I wish it meant that and would love that it meant that; but I sincerely doubt it.

I too have been waiting for the Edge release for Verizon. I have contacted the Verizon Executive Relations department at 1-800-760-4658 twice and have received a callback but they will not give any info on a release date. They state they will send an email to product development team and that they are still testing an d to sign up on the so called coming soon plash page. I have also heard some rumors that the problem is samsung is behind on stock. They also gave me a $30 bill credit. I went to a Verizon store and the employee, seemed like she had no idea, said it could be as long as April. I don't see that happening, but to me this is BS. Verizon advertises on the Edge program to be able to upgrade to the latest technology yet the note edge has been out for about a month now on other carriers. They blame it on testing but they had the same amount of time the other carriers had to test the phone. Feel free to call the number because u will be connecting directly to a executive relations representative. Hopefully if a cpl people or current customers *****, theyll get the point. I highly doubt it though.

If the Edge released in Jan or Feb it will be 2 or 3 months behind other carriers and that's a long wait for a new phone. The Edge is clearly not a priority for VZW because they have to deal with limited quantities anyway. I still want one but am not too motivated to get the Note 4, even though it's only $149 with contract. I want something different from my Note 2 that I have been carrying for the past two years and I already have a quad-HD Note tablet, so the Note 4 wouldn't be that special of a device for me but the Edge is different enough.

I am new to the board. I have been search for information on a release. I have been with Verizon for 8+ years and I am really upset with how they have treated their customers on this issue. If there are issues with the phone that they are working out then they should say that when you call. Just to say they have no info is unacceptable! I can not under stand why they are being so tight lipped about dragging their feet on this phone. I am reading more and more positive reviews and really want the phone as it will work for me on how I use my phone.

I am ready to jump ship and go to sprint if I have to. In fact I will save money if I do and get more for my money. I know about the coverage area but where I live it should not be an issue. I am giving Verizon till the end of the year, week and a half to release the phone. I mean really, a month and a half after everyone else has them and they can not give there customers proper info??????

Note 4 is definitely a good choice on Verizon, unless you don't want the large screen/touchwiz. Droid turbo is another good choice, nearly exact same specs and cheaper price.

I think they're holding out because they don't want to be stuck with a bunch of undervalued Note 3s that would be returned by Edge participants. If they wait most Note 3 users will have almost paid off their old phones. I know... It the conspiracy guy coming out in me ☺

Verizon's lack of feedback to customers is indicative of how they view their customer base.

I can agree to an extent.. Verizon as a company does not care much for the consumer base or have good customer service, however most corporate stores have sales reps that are honest and friendly, and they get as much information to you that you need/want and a little more.. But yeah Verizon is keeping everyone in the dark for too long. Even though I got the note 4 I'd still like to see the note edge, I can always switch it if they release it before the end of the year (or before January 3rd).. Come on Verizon :P

You bought the Note 4 during VZW's holiday exchange period. Verizon will allow holiday purchases (anything from black Friday till 12/28) to be returned until January 15th. That should give you a little more freedom if the Edge appears.

Edit: I called a VZW store to clarify. The holiday return period apparently only applies to contracts and accessories, not the Edge Plan.

Edit #2: I can't guarantee I received the correct info about the Edge Program exclusion. I just called a local rep.

WHAT???? Does it still apply with the Edge Plan? This is exciting :)

So how do you like your note 4?

I love it, its gonna be hard to get another phone that isn't a note :/ the s pen is so useful for me and the speed is good, but there's some lag. Custom launcher helps, but its still there. Battery is a little disappointing, but it reflects my usage, and it'll get better as I prime it or calibrate or whatever you do to it. Definitely recommend it :)

I called and asked for you. Sorry, it only applies to contracts and accessories. The Edge Plan is still 14 days. I didn't even think about that before I posted since I've always had contacts. :(

Edit: I spoke only with a store rep. I cannot guarantee she was correct about that exclusion. If the exclusion does exist, I would say an argument could be made to a manager that the holiday exchange period differences were not explained to you when you upgraded or phoned later to ask. Seems to be confusion on this matter amongst reps. Go figure.

I'm chatting with a rep, and she said it works, and almost encouraged returning it for the edge using the return period. She called it almost a trial run for your phone.. :) I'll check to be sure with the edge plan thing tho

The rep asked her coworkers, and she said it applies to edge plans as well :) woohoo!

I have to disagree. I've always had excellent customer service with Verizon Wireless. Any time I've had problems, they have always taken good care of me. This is very disappointing to me that they're not giving their customers communication with this phone, but overall I don't think this is a reflection of their overall customer service. That's why I've been with them for so long.

Yes, I typically get good service in person, though online many people arent willing to give out what they don't want to. I just chatted with a woman and she went above any other CCS employee I've spoken with, and she said that they don't find out about the phone until the day before, so it has to be the higher-ups who enjoy taunting and allowing bad customer service to their paying customers. I'm not sure any anyone else, but I'm reluctantly going to tmoble the first chance I get, so long as their coverage is better, but until then I hope Verizon figures out how things should work
