Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Only

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

Never listen to the rep about something technical because 90% of the time they have no clue what they are talking about. I've learned that from experience.

I had a weird episode at about 4:30 PM today, call my wife's cell phone three times with two bars 4G and she said "I can't hear you". I called the land line and got the same. I did a battery pull and all was better. Hmmmm.

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

I just got Verizon Nexus yesterday and two bars has been the best I can get so far and I'm less than a mile from the Verizon company owned store. I had read about complaints to Verizon in December but had also read the problem with the Nexus had been fixed.

It's sad that Google is going to have to dumb down the signal meter just to get people to quit complaining. I'd rather they just leave it alone.

The Galaxy Nexus is giving you a true signal strength. Most phones exaggerate the signal.

4G all day here in So Cal without any issues.

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

I live in the NJ/NY area and the phone could barely get a lock on signal... When it would transition from 3g to 4g, which it did often, it would drop the signal aswell, and take forever to come back. Also, it would drop calls. After being fed up, I returned it and stuck to my Thunderbolt... my thunderbolt never had these problems.

I've had this phone and calling plan for 24hrs and calls are already breaking up. That might not concern you but it does me.

Issues in Southern California for me. Just the other day I noticed that when I'm on 3G it will show the grey bars with no data. I can switch to 4G and it will work fine. Hopefully an update will come shortly.

How exactly does an outage only impact a single phone? If it were true.

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

Combust17, you need a new sim card. I and several other users have had the same issue, phone will connect to 4g network but will not connect to 3g even with full strength signal. A new sim card solves the problem.

When that happened to me it was because of a bad sim card.

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

I was wondering why my phone hadn't received emails or texts. I tried to make a call and nothing. I pulled the battery and sim card and the phone worked again. smh

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

Havent had connection all morning today. So annoying.

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

If you switch to CDMA only and then reboot, do you get a good 3g signal when it comes back on?

Yep just did this and now I have 3g. Awesome. Glad I paid for a 4g phone that only has 3g service. Fkn joke.

I don't think it has anything to do with the phone, it the "not yet ready for prime time" Verizon 4g network. If you're in a solid/strong 4g area, everything is great, but if you move through the fringes, problems arise on all 4g phones. It will get better with time (as the network improves).

Re: Verizon Rep Says Nationwide Connectivity Issue with Nexus Onl

Just dropped 3 calls within the space of 10 minutes (business no less). I'm trying the reboot suggestion right now as I type this. Love the phone otherwise, but I have the worst reception in my house and it just so happens that I work from home. I may try that SIM card replacement to see if that helps. If I go to a Verizon store will there be able to change the SIM out there or is there a number that I need to call?

tx,

This is getting monotonous, no 4G in N.Y. What else is new? "America's most reliable network"? Yeah, for 4G outages it sure is!
