Just another post about the Verizon restarts. They seem to still be happening, this time it usually happens whenever the usb port detects water/moisture, because afterwards it displays that notification again. It is quite annoying lol. Mainly because then I have to reinstall my Substratum overlays, but that cant be done until I connect the phone to my laptop, which cant be done until the port dries.

Mine has rebooted on its own about I think twice since the update last weekend. Now that you mention it, both times where when I was unplugging it from the USB cord in my car. Also odd, that is the only cord that has ever given me the 'moisture in port' message, or whatever it says. It makes the same 'chime' that Samsung pay makes which freaks me out as I didn't just make a purchase.

I'm going to swap cables and see if that helps.

Hope that fixes it for you!

New cables should be here tomorrow. It restarted again tonight when I got home and shut off the car. I turned the car off, the phone woke up as the power (I was charging) stopped, and then I unplugged it to leave and it rebooted. Joy.

Nope. Different cable and different 12-volt charger didn't fix it.

If I have the phone plugged into the car and shut the car off the phone will reboot. This is my only car that doesn't keep the power on to accessories for 30 minutes or so after shutting down the car.

Oh well, I'll just in the habit of unplugging the phone before shutting off the car.

Thats quite interesting, I wonder why that causes it.

i have learned that after the oreo update my verizon note 8 will go into loop if i hit restart phone instead of powering it off.

so far the only way i have found to stop it is to try and do a cache partition wipe, and after about 5 times of the blue screen automatically shutting off, it will actually let me wipe cache and then when i hit restart from there it boots up fine.

so if anyone else has this problem by using the restart feature I would like to know.

Loaded the leaked Oreo on Feb 23rd, and then the Verizon official Oreo when it came out. Not a single restart on either.

I updated to Oreo without doing a factory reset and I'm not having any random restart problems. I have a Verizon Note 8.

Yeah, the restarts happen for me anytime the Note touches water. Then, it restarts 2-3 times again after that until the notification goes away or is about to.
