Verizon 'significantly altering' unlimited data?

With verizon, I normally get around 65 Mbps down and 40 up which is enough to power everything I need to work flawlessly ...with my u-verse I was getting less than 3 down ans less than 1 up...lol

I have the fastest wifi available to me... 50mb/s through TWC... My Verizon phone is always faster. I average 110MB/s on LTE at my house.

50 mbps is pretty usable though...I had 50 mbps on twc too, but During peak, mine was dropping to sub 1mbps

Why would it be fake? I believe the article said they got it directly from Verizon. As in Verizon said not some unknown source. I'd have to double check though.

Edit - yep from Verizon.

That's why they are touching non contract people. They figure those in contract only have so long..
Unless they can point to a Verizon page with this notice or something similar, this doesn't matter much. Heck, they could say, "Verizon has confirmed with us that they will start putting pink unicorns on all of their towers tomorrow," but that doesn't mean diddly.

For all we know, their Verizon source may have been pulling their leg.

I don't think a blog / news site can say Verizon said something to them without doing so. Also why would Verizon "joke" or "pull their leg" about this? I honestly have never seen Verizon come out with a joke on a news site that inquired about something happening ...

Nice. I am around 30-50 Mbps around town. Right near my house I get this on a consistent basis w/ T-Mobile. Even during a VoLTE call :).

Update from Verizon

These users are using data amounts well in excess of our largest plan size (100 GB). While the 100 GB plan is designed to be shared across multiple users, each line receiving notification to move to the new Verizon Plan is using well in excess of that on a single device.

So it seems ... 100+ GB and you could be in the crosshairs.

With all the different blogs and rumours out there, I take everything with a grain of salt unless they cite back to a source, such as a press release page on Verizon's site, not just saying they told us so.

Ah well you can believe what you want but Verizon even reached out to them again and explained more. You can deny it if you want but .. known news sites don't just go around saying "Verizon said this" or "Verizon reached out to us and told us .." without it being true. The source isn't a blog in a kids basement .. It is Droid Life who usually is correct on these things since they verify with the actual source (in this case Verizon) :).

People are arguing this is against block C agreements. Actually a pretty good argument. Says right in it they can not single out people for bandwidth usage
