Eh. Regardless. I ended up doing the factory reset after I got off the phone with them. And yup problem still there. I just know I'm in the clear. He said that all devices are inspected and if a factory reset fixes the problem I will be billed. Well nothing to sorry about now

The problem you described is a very well known issue/defect. I was asked to do a factory reset on my wife's phone when it did the same thing, but I told the tech that I had gone i to recovery mode to clear the cache, and the problem was still an issue in recovery mode. He immediately sent me a replacement, which I sold on Craigslist for $350 (Exactly what I paid for TWO RazrMaxx on a BOGOF offer) and my wife went back to her iPhone. Said it was more simple to use.
They always try to scare you if your phone is rooted or modified that you caused the problem, not them. Sometimes, I guess they are right. Most of the time, the customer service gyys don't know enough about our phone and are reading from a scrip.
