Verizon software update

I think this has made my battery worse! I never complained about battery life before, but this is bad.

Your phone is having MAJOR issues. First guess is you have a problem with wakelocks. Take the phone to stock firmware and operate that way for a week, see what happens.

Phone is stock, nothing added except a theme. not sure what a wake lock is?

Did the update an hour ago, cleaned the trash(cache)out and I've lost only 1% battery the past hour. I was one of the lucky ones with good battery life since day one, but maybe it's even better? I can handle that.
Phone seems as fine as before, no issues regarding the update.

I would give it a day or two.

I bought the Verizon GS6 from bestbuy cause of a price match error (full price $550) and I am using T-Mobile on it (which runs flawlessly BTW) I'm guessing I need a Verizon simcard to update cause it won't let me check. Can I update by downloading the update from my laptop and putting in system storage? or an external SD? (I have an OTG Cable)

Yup - gotta flush the toilet every now and then. I like to store a backup Nandroid image on my computer. I have absolutely no problems with totally purging my phone from time to time and restarting from stock image.

If you can't to this by yourself, don't try to guess. Just leave the phone alone and let Moto do the driving.

This is one of the reasons I want root. On my GS3 I had Titanium backup my apps/data and then reboot the phone once a week.

I'll have to head over to XDA this weekend and see what's happening on the root front.

Did the update a couple hours ago and everything seems fine so far. Battery life might be better also, time will tell.
My battery has not dropped even 1% in the past couple of hours. :p

So glad that Location notification is being fixed with this update. So annoying to see that almost every ten minutes.

I've tried the update several times now and it keeps failing. I also tried to get into the boot menu to clear the cache but I can't seem to get into it. Every time I try it factory resets my phone. I'm getting really ticked off. It won't even complete the update after the factory reset. What am I doing wrong?

I'm genuinely surprised. I did an FDR after the update and now my standby usage is almost nothing. Just like my iPhone:) looking forward to a full day of usage tommorow but this looks considerable so far.

So I just installed this update 10 min ago. Hasn't done anything for the battery and now the phone keeps freezing. S6 edge

Can you guys check in your aplication manager under running and tell me if it added a vpn aplication in your running list. I frequently check my running processes to make sure only the things I want running are there. After the update it added vpn IPsec service to my running list. Does anyone know what this is?
Just curious.
I don't like it when updates just adds running processes in background without my permission.
Thanks

Also I would like to add that since the update my cell standby went from top of list to bottom of list.
I've only been using phone for 2 hours since update but cell standby issue is looking promising so far. Will keep an I on it and report back later.
