Verizon software update

My battery has improved. Maybe the poorer signal was causing the battery to drain faster before? Idk

Listen guys it was just meant to be a VERY minor fix and only for certain things. It's not a cure for any battery woes. Let's hope that 5.1.1 addresses those concerns.

Ever since update I cant use my wireless charger. I put it on the charger and it shows that it is charging, but never charges. and continues to draw down the battery. Its the vzw wireless charging stand.

I recently did the update and now Microsoft Outlook won't sync. Is anyone else having this issue? I've tried clearing the cache partition and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. Still not syncing...

I think I'm going to skip applying this until VZW forces it upon me. My phone works great, by battery life is very good. based on this thread, it seems like the odds of this update improving my phone are small.

I took the update but don't really notice any changes battery or otherwise. The phone is still working as well as it was before the update. My battery has always been good. My phone has always been fast and no lagging ever. So while not taking it is probably fine I think your only putting off the inevitable as updates previously offered have to be installed before a newer one can be installed. There is a progression to it. Always works this way whenever you get a new phone that hasn't been updated and has a few updates waiting, never just jumps to the latest one.

I'm most definitely putting off the inevitable. But if I can put this off until Google rolls out 5.1, I'm going to do so. As the say goes, don't fix it if it aint broke.

Did this fix the screen tap issue where sometimes we have to tap a couple times for things to work?

One day after installing the update, I have noticeable improvement in battery performance.

Does clearing the cache reset my phone to where I'll have to reinstall everything? I've never done that before. Thanks.

Nope everything will be as it was before. Just clears out bugs sometimes if there is any.

Didn't notice too much after the update, but check your disabled Verizon apps after you install it. I noticed after the update that caller name ID was re-enabled after having it disabled for weeks.

Thanks for the "heads up". Mine had reenabled themselves also.

I cannot go much more than 3 days without having to reboot. After 4 days the phone is practically unusable. Will 5.1.1 fix this? Having to reboot so often is totally unacceptable for a flagship phone.

Seriously this is a big deal? I reboot each morning when I take it off the charger. Not a big deal at all. Does it need it? No. I just have always done it this way with all phones for many years. A fresh start on the day. Geez, takes all of 2 sec to initiate and 30 sec or so to complete. Maybe why I never have any issues with this device or others. I dunno, but every three days , really not a big deal.

I guess it is not the end of the world but in this day and age I think the phone should run smoothly without needing a reboot. My IOS friends never have to reboot..and I envy that.
