I updated my phone yesterday, I like it so far. It might sound ridiculous but the best part of this update so far for me is that my text message bubbles are a different color now. Thank goodness. That was killing me

Try clearing the cache partition. That helped me to get the update.

Nope, still haven't been able to get the update. I'll have to call vzw tomorrow.

Wife's can't even get the update. She keeps getting "software update is currently unavailable."

For some reason my phone never got the update on its own. I chatted with Verizon online and they sent it to my phone themselves and then my phone downloaded it just fine

The update got pushed to my phone, without me going and looking for it. I accepted it. So far, no noticeable differences.

Called vzw today and they had me connect to pc and install the vzw update manager software. That worked and update is applied. Still couldn't get it Ota.

I think I'm going to skip applying this until VZW forces it upon me. My phone works great, by battery life is very good. based on this thread, it seems like the odds of this update improving my phone are small.

I should have read this post before I did the update. I would've been 100% with you on this one. My service sucks now smh

So after running the update last night, I ran into my first problem today.
When connecting to my hotel wifi,I can connect to the open network BUT it will not open a web page/redirect to the hotel page where I need to enter my login info. This worked last night but wont work today. If I turn off wifi it will use the Verizon wireless network, but when wifi is on nothing works. Any help?

Go into Wi-Fi settings and forget/delete the connection. Then re set it back up. Try that.

I finally installed the update last night. Cleared cache after. So far I haven't noticed anything different, good or bad.

Seriously this is a big deal? I reboot each morning when I take it off the charger. Not a big deal at all. Does it need it? No. I just have always done it this way with all phones for many years. A fresh start on the day. Geez, takes all of 2 sec to initiate and 30 sec or so to complete. Maybe why I never have any issues with this device or others. I dunno, but every three days , really not a big deal.

I agree with rebooting occasionally.

I started this with my Thunderbolt and continued with the GS3. I had Titanium do a weekly backup and reboot the device. I'd like to do this with the GS6 but I took the update as my battery usage has been increasing without a corresponding change in use of the device.

When I see root for the new update available on XDA I'll go ahead and root so that I can get Titanium working and access Secure Settings through Tasker.

ME TOO!

Update got pushed to my phone this morning. I went ahead and ran the update, and the first thing I noticed was the different colored text message bubbles. I really missed that feature when I upgraded to my S6, and I am so glad I have it back.

Ever since update I cant use my wireless charger. I put it on the charger and it shows that it is charging, but never charges. and continues to draw down the battery. Its the vzw wireless charging stand.

I also have the Verizon Wireless Charging Stand. The update pushed to my phone yesterday. I had no problem charging my phone last night. Woke up to 100%.

Nope, still haven't been able to get the update. I'll have to call vzw tomorrow.

I didn't get the notification until the 10th. Blew it off for a couple days until I started to see threads/articles about what it does. Installed it a few minutes ago. It did fail once and took me to the boot loader. Rebooted and it re-downloaded the update and installed normally.

I have a question about clearing the cache. Will it effect apps such as a mobile authenticator? I factory reset my phone once to resolve an issue and forgot to remove the mobile authenticator from my account before and reset it up after. I had to make a phone call to customer support for the game it's for and that was hell.

This update seems to have improved my battery life a lot. My cell signal seems stronger, too. Here's a screen shot from earlier today that shows "approximately 2 days" of battery left after 6.5 hours of battery. My screen use has been minimal -- probably less than an hour -- so it doesn't show up on the usage list.

You need to attach your phone to your computer and install the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant. Click on the repair assistant and it will repair your phone to where you can install the update. Make sure you backup your phone before you start. You will lose some of your apps and you will have to reinstall them manually. Make a list of your apps so you know what you had.
