So, for the last few days, my phone has a message that Verizon wants to install an update. After how badly Google's KitKat update screwed up my phone, I don't want to allow any updates.
Does anyone know what this update does? Are you OK with it?
I'd like some first hand feedback before allowing another cluster ****

Thanks.

Didn't fix all the Bluetooth issues. Up until the KitKat update, I was able to stream music to my Ford Sync flawlessly. After the update, all it does is skip and stutter. I've factory reset my phone, deleted the profiles from my phone and my car, renamed my phone, pulled the battery on the car. I've tried it all and nothing works. My favorite thing to do with a smart phone has been taken away and I'm still ticked off about it. I can't even stream from the 3.5mm jack for some reason although I know that has nothing to do with BT, my point is KitKat ruined my phone. Will probably have to get brave enough to root it someday and go back to an OS I can trust. Hate Updates. Unless you programmers can make my phone better with your stupid updates, leave my phone the He.. alone!

I have been having the same issue since KitKat update, before that Bluetooth streaming worked flawlessly, after the update always choppy. One thing I noticed is that if I start up the phone in "safe mode" then streaming works flawlessly like it did before the update. Problem is that some apps won't work in safe mode, like Sirius/xm app or PowerAmp. But the regular play music app works, so do Pandora, Slacker, Songza etc.

So the implication is since it works fine in safe mode, it is not the phone or KitKat that is the issue, but probably one of my third party apps that doesn't play nice with KitKat. I haven't had time to go through and figure out which one yet. But if you go through the running processes there is probably one there that is causing the problem.
