Hi, thinking about ordering one of these as a replacement to my Moto Z Force. Two things I wanted to make sure were working is Android Auto and Visual Voice mail. I use both those functions daily and would hate to lose them. Any other things I should take note of on Verizon with these phones?

I can assure you Android auto works, I use it everyday. As far as visual voicemail I am unsure if that does work. I am on Sprint and I do not have visual voicemail available to me. Not that I know of, but I don't really care about that feature.

Basic visual voicemail works with Oreo on Essential with Verizon for me. It is a Oreo built in interface, not the Verizon app. It doesn't support transcription service but works fine for checking messages.

I never was able to get visual voicemail with this phone on Nougat.

I don't know about Android Auto.
I divorced myself from Verizon Visual VM.
I'm using Google Voice and my VM is through Google.
I get transcription and full integration for free.

Came in the mail today and I can confirm that AA and Verizon Visual Voice Mail work fine for me. But I seem to have random screen freezes and sometimes the screen acts like something is touching it when no one is.... I'll try a few more things with it over the next few days. Hoping to not have to send it back.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues; I wouldn't hesitate to send it back, I do think Essential has a quality control issue in manufacturing and you want to make sure yours doesn't have issues. And, out of curiosity, which color did you buy?

It was a black moon one. It's already on it's way back. The look and feel were great, maybe I'll take another look if there's an Essential 2. Hopefully th QC gets better.

Yeah. I had to send mine back. Only issue I had was screen flicker when I pressed the power button and bad to no signal in my area. Couldn't keep it as I need my device for work. Other than those the phone was great. I look forward for the next version.
