My mic started going out on my work phone, a DT2. The replacement phone Verizon sent me is still on 6.0 not 6.0.1 and on May 2016 security update and will not update any further. Is this worth a trip to the Verizon store?

You can always try using the Verizon Upgrade Assistant. See https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...support/knowledge-base-116821/&token=J1lCCV4U
This should bring your phone up to the latest update.

Thanks, I didn't realize Verizon had such a thing, I only use Verizon as a work phone, all my personal phones are AT&T. Unfortunately the system upgrade assistant will not run on a Windows 10 computer, at least that is what the program is telling me. I'll have to try it Monday on one of our Windows 7 systems at work. Still don't understand why it doesn't recognize my new phone as not being up to date.

Well I used the Verizon Software Update tool and it says my replacement phone is up to date, which I know is wrong because my DT2 that I had to return was on 6.0.1 and was on October security update. I give up, I'm just glad I don't have to use Verizon for anything other than my work phone. Went to the local Verizon store and they said that was the latest update, even though the display model was a more current update with 6.0.1 October security update and I showed him my phone was May security update and version 6.0 Store employees are totally useless unless you are there to buy an iPhone, they might as well have no employees and a freaking vending machine that spits out iPhones.

Did you happen to plug it into a USB 3.0 port? For some reason I want to say that matters. I want to say I remember reading somewhere that for the update assistant to work properly it needs to be plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

Yes, I have read that before as well.

It can take a few weeks for the software upgrade to come up to date with the ota, so it may be worth trying again each week.

I honestly don't know why the upgrade check fails. It shouldn't.
