Verizon WILL carry all storage options for the S6.

Any idea a general release date for the platinum/gold? Thanks...
Nothing has been announced on what carriers in the US will get what exclusive colors yet. Soon as I know I will pass it in but it will sure it will be announced here first on the front page.

Any word on the pricing? Is it going to be in line with the iPhone 6 or is it going to start off at $250 like the GS5?

This is what I was afraid of. Ridic.

You pay the same whether you supply a phone, buy it full price or subsidized(2 year contract price). Doesn't make sense since they say your paying the cost of the phone over the course of the contract. Since your not subsidizing a phone it your plan should be less but its not..

Moto X 2014

I can only speak to Verizon pricing. If you buy on the standard two year contract, your line charge for a smartphone is $40/month. If you buy on the edge plan or are on what they refer to as month to month (not on contract), your monthly line is discounted either $15 or $25/month depending on your data amount purchase. If you don't know if you are off contract, look at the contract end date for the phone on your 'My Verizon" website page. If it says month to month instead of a date you can request the line discount. One of the phones on our plan receives the discount - so don't tell it doesn't exist. It might be limited to their share everything plans.

Eh... I hope it stays a rumor.

Does anybody know the answer to this?

inders99,

Sorry to say but the answer in no. If you are on a data share plan (i.e. Unlimited talk/text and X GB of data)
If you are not on an Edge plan the "line fee" is $40.
This sucks because AT&T does not do this. They give you the $15 "line fee" if you pay off device, BYOD, or do a Next plan and have 10+ GB.

Verizon "line fee" goes like this:

Contract: $40 line fee ( pay subsidized price, and $40 "upgrade" fee)
EDGE: 8GB or less: Line fee is $25 ( a $15 price cut )
Edge: 10GB or Higher: $15 Line fee ( Price cut of $25)
BYOD (bring your own device) Line fee: $40 ( you lose the discount )

The only way to make a line fee cheaper is to BYOD - Dumb phone - and the line fee is $20.

Hope this helps.

or you can work for the man and get an employee discount (or a friend works for the man and you borrow his email address) ... also if you're in college, or graduated, almost every university has a discount. I get 27% off

I plan on switching my family share everything plan to the Edge plan. Even if we all get the 32gb Edge model, we are out on $200 for the device over the course of 2 years given the price difference of the contract. So you pay less up front, less overall, and you're not really in a contract. Also you can upgrade after 16 months if you trade in the device.

Anyone have experience with getting a phone from Best Buy and Verizon in the past? Would like to have the phone as soon as possible but not sure whether to pre-order from Verizon or pick up in a store.

Re: Verizon WILL carry all storage options forum S6.

They'll probably be announced towards the end of the year once the sales start falling off. It's happened with previous S devices. Just look how long the blue s5 took to come out.

A lot speculated that the Note 4 would see this treatment as well, but the gold and pink versions never saw the light of day. Samsung has been terrible at providing all options upon launch. Don't bet on seeing more than two colors.

I spoke with our Samsung rep yesterday about information on the S6 and Edge. She confirmed Verizon will carry 2 colors at launch, all storage options will be available as well.

Some people know me here and I'm reputable since I work for the company. Just look at my previous posts in the past. You can chose to believe me or not, it doesn't matter to me.

any word on the pricing? (rumor or otherwise)

How much for the 128 gb S6 regular in white or gold with 2-year contract?
Will it be more or less than the 128g gb iPhone 6 in white with 2-year contract?

Thank you. :)

You do not have to be on a Edge plan to get a line discount. If your out of contract you get it.

Re: Verizon WILL carry all storage options forum S6.

That sucks. They should come out with all colors and all storage options at launch. It's ridiculous to announce them and get peoples' hopes up and then not have them available at the same time.

Agreed, this is one of Samsung's many faults that go along with their achievements as well. They are horrible at providing all options available upon launch....a lot of confusion and different launch strategies, in different markets.

That's correct, but if I'm getting the S6, then it costs less to go onto the Edge plan than it does to pay the subsidized price and sign a 2 year contract.

I just read a post over at Droid life, they are saying that Verizon WON'T have the S6/S6E up for pre order until April 1st.

Can anyone in the know, confirm that this is true.
Also, with the later date, does that mean that they'll miss the April 10th release? Thanks!

April 1st was the date Verizon stated pre-orders would open. While they haven't officially said when the release is, I'd say it's April 10th - in line with others.
