just going to add... that it can go to verizon but at least i dont have to worry about tied data. just new billing cycle and did over 2 gigs in 1 day

So if this is truly coming to Verizon with the fronting facing camera won't apps like qik and fringe destroy you on monthly bills ? Either way It looks like the rumored desire hd that was being talked about and should be announced at the HTC event next month.
Wow so hold on the rumored Droid pro now the evo-ish HTC phone and can't forget the heavily rumored iPhone coming to Verizon at some point next year . Wow. It's just sad they take whatever Sprint gets and one how Sprint. You would think big v wouldn't have to go that route considering they have more money and have a much bigger subscriber base.
Update ... had to catch myself there. I'm starting to feel like a fanboy. After some thought I think its actually good that verizons customers get this phone ( I still think its the HTC ace or desire hd your call) just brings yet another phone into the super phone rank.

Lol ROFL its crazy how the last 3 droids they released could not make a sent into what sales and features the Evo has so they just copy them. Next is the iPhone4 with a new redesigned antenna lol that's just great. Well I have been reading post about this for 2 hours and Verizon annoys love this new Evo But before it they hated the Evo, the kickstand, features of 4g is pointless and stupid to them. Then this came up and now everybody is like, I love it, I want one now. I told people the Evo has made the change. Now phones come with HD recording, front facing cameras for video chatting, and kickstands all thanks to the Evo.

So do you think the EVO-ish Verizon phone will be LTE?
So Verizon isn't supposed to get any LTE phones till 2011. If this Evo lookalike is really coming this year do you think it'll be an Lte phone? Or maybe its getting delayed like the 2ghz phone? And I can't find it on the roadmap.
And do you think the specs will be the same as the Evo's or better? Like maybe an improved snapdragon chip and better Gpu with no frame cap?

The Desire HD looks much different on the back. This is not the Desire HD. This is a refreshed Evo coming to Verizon.
I wish they would leave out the kickstand. Its loose on my friend's Evo and we never use it. They should just put kick stands on their cases.

do you think this will come out in the next 6 weeks? I know wishful thinking but I figure I have a 2 week wait for my DX then 30 days from that to switch. As much as I have liked the feel of the motorola phone over the HTC phones, this one has me REALLY interested.
While the evo is a good phone, it is not for everyone, and I doubt that the same people that are saying they like it now were saying they hated it then. VZW is not stealing the iPhone, the rumor is nothing but a rumor. VZW got this new phone just like they get all of the other htc phones. htc doesn't usually do exclusives like Moto does.
No. At the earliest Black Friday. Most likely Dec. though.
Edit: And why does everyone assume that because this new HTC phone has a front facing camera that it will have LTE? Did we forget that the iPhone 4 has a front facing camera working off Wi-Fi only? NO 4G! Don't get me wrong, I would love for this to be true but I'm not gonna convince myself to believe in something thats not true. This will most likely operate the same way as the iPhone does.

I'm guessing HTC and Verizon are going to have this in our hands in November for Christmas. It would explain why the X and D2 were released so early and close to eachother.
Just because it looks like the EVO does not mean it has to be 4G. I've guessed this was coming all along and never thought it would be 4G.
Let me remind everyone that we will not have any android 4g phones on verizon until Late January/Febuary! Our networks first device will be a Novatell Hotspot supporting 10 Devices. You have not even heard or seen of a 4g verizon device yet. VZW will not release a device in the begginning of January because the phones u just bought for christmas would still be in the 30 day return period.
