Verizon ?

Got my OP7 pro today, for some reason I'm not receiving any text messages. Just put the SIM from my pixel 3 xl. This is why hate this stupid Verizon/Sprint. Used to switch devices left and right on T-Mobile without any issues. Hate to call support just to activate the phone. Might as well think about switching back to TMobile in the near term now that ski season is over and no longer need the Verizon network in the mountains.

@bhatech...how ya liking it so far? Have one sitting in my cart ready to check out but I'm holding back to see some real world usage results

Please post if you get it fixed. Mine is coming tomorrow and I will reject it if this is a no-go. I have VZW.

Phone is awesome, but that's because I just got it

Got to see how it works over the next few weeks.

Articles say I need to call in support to add a non CDMA device, I'll see later evening or tomorrow morning to see if that resolves. For now I switched back to Pixel and just using WiFi on the OP7

Update: chatted with Verizon rep online and they were able to take care of it. I'm able to receive SMS now without any issues.

I switch devices every few days, hopefully I don't have to do this every time I put the SIM back in OnePlus 7.

Can you verify of the 7 pro has wifi calling this time around for Verizon? I know the 6t did but curious if anything changed with this one.

I put the SIM in and SMS plus network signal seemed to work just fine. I don't use Wi-Fi calling, but I run two SIMS (T-Mobile and Verizon) in my phone and this is what I'm seeing up top of my display...not sure if it will help anyone who's wondering or not. Cheers....

I don't see WiFi calling on Verizon with the OnePlus 7 Pro bought from OnePlus site.

Personally don't care about it but are you sure it was on 6T. From what I recall I don't think it had Verizon WiFi calling on 6T. Anyway don't see it on OP7.

Thank you for this thread. I am also tied to VZW for various reasons, and am extremely interested in the OP7p. I am currently still using my Nexus 6P (which I still love, but which is getting a little long in the tooth). I know when I first got it, while it would work on the VZW network, it was several months before I got visual voicemail (a tech told me it wouldn't be available until VZW "certified" the phone for its network). And, I have to admit, once I had VVM back I was surprised how much I missed it during those months it was not available. Will be interested to hear if VZW VVM will work on the OP7p out of the gate. Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes VVM works on OP7 pro with Verizon network out of the box.

Do you have the unlocked version? Are there any issues you've ran into? I'm looking at buying this to use verizon for my business sim and tmobile for my personal sim at the same time.

Yes, the unlocked 8/256 nebula blue purchased from the OnePlus website. Thus far no issues. Tmo is my primary network and I have Verizon as a backup. MMS works. Calls are fine. Data works fine. I just dropped both SIMS in, rebooted the phone, and everything was up and running without a hitch.

I've never used dual sim but really wanting to. When you text or call someone do you have the option to pick which number you or using? When someone calls can you tell which number it's for? Sorry, these are probably stupid questions but for work reasons I need to know what number people are calling and tell what i'm messaging and calling from. Thanks for the info.

No such thing as a stupid question if it's asked in earnest.

The phone allows you to choose which SIM you want to default to for mobile data and messaging. For calls, you can default to a particular SIM or have the phone ask you each time you place a call what SIM/number you want to use, as pictured...

Try using Google voice for visual voice mail. I got to like it when I first signed up with Verizon because it was free for a while. Then they took it away. I refuse to pay Verizon any more $$$ than they already leached from me. Google voice does the same thing for free.

How has Verizon service on the OnePlus 7? Has the network speeds been the same as your other phones on Verizon?

Haven't run any speed tests to compare but haven't seen any issues with data or network compared to my other phones in Verizon in my location. So far so good without any issues.
