Very difficult activation

I just received my Samsung Galaxy watch today from Tmobile. My daughter got the Apple Watch series 4 at the same time also from Tmobile. She was paired and all set including LTE connectivity in less than 15 minutes.
Me on the other hand, I was on the phone with Tmobile first with customer care, then tech support. Total time nearly 2hrs. The Galaxy watch simply wouldn't connect to the tmobile network and I bought it from Tmobile. It was a very frustrating experience. I nearly made the decision to return the Galaxy watch and switch to Apple.

There is something very positive to be said about the ease of use and great integration of Apple's products.

I had similar activation problems. Fortunately it was at a T-Mobile store, so the guy had a better idea what to do than me.

Need to activate LTE with a compatible Galaxy phone on TMobile network. Other phones don't seem to work in getting it setup for whatever reason.

Indeed, thought my Note 9 with Tmobile sim would be sufficient.

But it's all done now, thanks to that last Tmobile Tech rep I spoke with on the phone. She knew exactly what to do, problem was the people I had to talk with prior to reaching her.

True but you need an Apple phone to use the Apple watch. I really wanted their new watch but I hate iPhone. I tried one about a year ago. Despised it.

Agreed, I kinda want the new Apple watch too, but I'm not yet willing to go full bore Apple. I still have my iPad but that's it. Maybe one year from now I'll reconsider. Till then I'll just be content with my Note 9 and Galaxy Watch w/LTE.
