I figured out today that my vibrate motor est kaput. My phone is just hitting the 2-year mark, so I'm wondering if I should try getting it fixed or find a replacement.

I don't use sound on my phone, so vibrate is the only way I get notifications.

That's entirely up to you. Replacing the vibrator isn't expensive (about a dollar) but the labor will cost.)
(It s also rare for vibrators to go these days - if it's the motherboard, it's going to be expensive - lots of things to disconnect and reconnect.)

Honestly if your phone is 2 years old, my suggestion would be to get a new phone if you can afford it.

My reasoning is that other things might start going wrong and also the lack of OS updates as the phone continues to age
.
