I flashed aosp cm7 using the xionia recovery and i LOVE it! Its fast and i cant oc my phone faster than i could with a froyo rom but gingerbread rocks the only bad thing is vibrate doesnt work for my messages or notifications I have been trying to figure out a fix :/ Cam anyone help me in the right direction? Or maybe wait for the port of gingerbread from the optimus s?

it works fine for me. haptic feedback and all notifications work perfect with vibration.

I've been running the latest build, 6/01, since it came out and havent had a single problem. besides the obvious bugs like bluetooth not working. everything else has been amazing.

I would check to see if its disabled or if a haptic feedback setting interferes with the normal vibration settings

I left all the haptic settimgs stock but weird enough I don't have the common blue tooth issues I even tried just a stock flash of cm7 just to see it stumps me headset works but no vibe also while I couldn't oc at 806 it runs just fine at 825 this has me puzzled

you can go to the market and download an app to manually turn on the vibration to see if the motor is dead or if its really a software issue. I had to test this on one phone (i set up about 6 OVs for friends in the last month) turns out that phone had a dead vibrator, nothing we did made it work, and we got it replaced.

The vibrate motor does work my calls vibrate but my messages and notifications don't vibrate I have even tried togglng the power widgets off and using just the menu settings

This may sound like a silly question...

By default at least in my experiences I've found the the vibrate function for mms, gmail, talk and likely others is disabled; even with the vibrate function enabled for calls at all times. Because of that I've found anytime I change roms and do not restore settings for those apps the vibrate function is not enabled.

So just to be safe and make sure all the bases have been covered; have you pulled up the text app pressed menu and checked the settings for vibrate in there?

Man I feel smart! I went and checked and sure enough the settings were disabled! I been bugged for days! I am even happier now! Thanks man for the suggestion.
