Vibrate-to-touch goes intermittent

There are times where I will be in the process of writing a text, when all of a sudden the screentouch vibrate just goes away. I then turn the phone from silent mode to vibrate mode to volume on, and the vibrate still does not work (as if it were still on silent mode). I have tried sound manager; I have made sure that everything is set to vibrate, yet it still randomly stops vibrating. Then it will come back on a a little bit later - anywhere from a few minutes later to a few hours. It's a vicious cycle!

SO, do I have a defective phone?

Are you just talking about the haptic feedback when typing? If so, this happens to me too at random times. Usually when I'm typing real fast and there is a slight lag and then it will stop vibrating when I hit a key. I have found no rhyme or reason behind it and it usually fixes itself by the time I send the next message. I'm not sure if this helps or not but at least you know you aren't alone!

Yes, that's exactly what happens. Except mine doesn't come back in the same time that your's does.

That was happening to mine. I took it in and they did a hard reset. A the rep said she wasn't having the problem. Within 10 minutes of leaving, it was doing it again so they gave me a new one. I was still within 30 days so I got an out of the box, not refurbished. Aside from a few apps it was stock.

Are you rooted and running a custom ROM or is your Incredible completely stock?

It is completely stock.

Thanks for the info - I will take it in and see what they can do.

I have the same problem with my Droid Razr Maxx from Verizon..This started after I downloaded the new "ice cream" software. So, I'm assuming its a software glitch. I haven't tried a hard reset on my phone yet. However, I saw in another forum that someone cleared all the cache in the internet browser, and that seemed to help them. If you need instructions on how to do so: Clear Temporary Internet Files - DROID RAZR / RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA
