Vibration pattern for Gmail, Google Voice

I'm running a stock AT&T Galaxy S4. I really hate the default vibration pattern -- it feels like it's at least a full second too long.
I see where to change the Vibration pattern (Settings -> My devie -> Sound -> Vibration), but as far as I can tell, the only things affected by that change are call vibration and phone SMS vibration. Even when I've changed the setting, GMail and Google Voice continue to notify using the default pattern ("Basic call").

Is there a setting somewhere that will control the vibration pattern for other things, like receiving a message in GMail or get a text in Google Voice? If there is, I can't find it.

Best regards,
Joe

I'm not an expert on doing this, but I think the LightFlow application allows this level of configuration.

Thanks, but Light Flow is my last resort. I'd prefer to do it without overlaying an app for this basic functionality. Feels like a bug that vibrate patten changes don't affect vibrate notifications from any apps.

I've got the same problem, and I'm on T-Mobile so I'm assuming it's a Samsung thing. Or, it's an application thing as I have the same problem with the Outlook.com app.

Update: I talked to Samsung, and they say it's an app issue. I tend to agree, as it seems Facebook & Texts are using my modified "default" vibration pattern. I've sent an email support request to Outlook.com support - can't wait to see what THEY say. Now if only I could find who to contact for the Gmail app...
