Vibration sounds screwed up on hard, flat surfaces?

Has anyone else experienced this? When I put my phone down on a glass table or a wood desk and my phone vibrates it will sound really obnoxious and distorted. However, if my phone is on my bed or on a softer surface the vibration sounds normal. My feeling is this has something to do with the stupid design of the phone that causes it to rock side to side when its on its back, so when it vibrates it messes up the sound. The crazy part is my old HTC Evo 4g used to do the same exact thing.

Is this really not happening to other people? I find it hard to believe that I've now used two devices that have done this and no one else has

It's because of the shape of the phone. Nothing can be done about it other than adding a case.
