I've been comparing mp4 video playback on my Gen2 iPod Touch to the playback on the Fascinate. Among other differences, the colors on the Fascinate are much more saturated than on the iPod, playing the same file. I've tried to find a player or utility that would allow me to tweak the video display settings on the Fascinate, but no luck so far.

Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks for any leads - John

I have compared the video on the fascinate with the iphones and the comment is always that it looks really good. Most say it looks better and it is a better screen tech anyway.

Interesting...I did a pass-around on the train last night and everyone preferred the iPod Touch.

The difference in the color was really noticeable, fwiw. The Fascinate's color rendition was very saturated. All the colors were "too" whatever...too red, too blue, etc. The iPod was much more natural and neutral. I do digital photography and color balance my monitors and am trying to figure out if there's some way to do something vaguely similar on the Fascinate...

Edit...digging around some more, found Color Filter Service. It has a free demo. I'm going to give it a shot...

That's because they are drinking the Iphone koolaid..they want one so bad, it doesn't matter that there are better options available...

The colors may be a bit oversaturated, but the contrast more than makes up for it in video viewing. What you want is to talk to @supercurio about his voodoo color modifications. He's working on re-writing the display driver to better calibrate it.

My wife has the iPhone 4 (verizon) and I have the Fascinate, to my eyes and her's the Fascinate provides a MUCH better video picture.
