Video quality between EVO and Palm PRE

Thank you for posting those. Mpeg4 720p Is best in those shots....daylight actually didn't look half bad actually. Now I just want to know if there's a quality difference between the stock class 2 Micro card and a class 6 card. Class 2 can't handle 720 very well so I'm curious to see how well a faster card does.

Just watched the 640, 800, and 1280 multiple times full screen.
The 640 & 800 have some weird artifacting as the car leaves the screen.
The 720p surprisingly looks better with out the artifacting.
The trees in all videos lack clarity.

Yeah I know it's a phone and not a camcorder.

The Pre shoots 640X480.

And We really need a test with a Class 4 and Class 6 card to know for sure. Video compression is half science and half art. But both halves drop low contrast details first.
If the phone can record great details, but the card is too slow, either the phone drops details to meet the recording speed of thecard, or the card drops details as it tries to keep up with the phone's data rate.

If a faster card makes no difference, then we know the phone can only write at 2MBps. In which case, we record at 720p and downsample to 480p for the best video quality. On the other hand, if the faster card looks better, then we know the phone can do better, but it's up to us to feed it properly with Class 4,6 or faster.

Man, I transferred all my pictures and videos from my pre to the evo and the difference in audio quality on videos is huge. The evo sounds horrible. Anyone know if this could be eventually modified with a patch or something?
