video recording question???

Well I just notice that I've been recording video on 480 this whole time since launch so I change the settings n notice a few other things I can change, what's the difference between mpeg4 n H263? Which is better for better quality n should I change the sharpness, contrast it brightness to improve video quality just checking since I juuust notice I've Been recording in 480 so I changed it to 720 that should b ok???
