Virus on tablet

Hi

I recently bought a relative a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, but forgot to install any Anti-virus software or update apps before they used the internet. Today they told me that the browser on the tablet was being blocked by a message similar to the link below, the wording is similar except we are in the UK, not Canada. They cannot access any webpages without these messages popping up.

I have been unable to find any instructions or guides on how to remove this from the tablet. I have installed AVG Anti Virus and ran scans but it has not removed it.

Have you tried doing a factory reset to clear this?

Are you using Chrome browser? Delete all your cookies, and disable pop-ups. Its most likely ad-ware/scare-ware pushed out by an application you installed, and not really a virus. Uninstall recently installed apps to see if that helps.
