Visibility in the sun??

Also, I just noticed there's a setting in Camera that lets you make the screen a bit brighter than maximum. (But only available in Camera). I assume for when you're shooting pics outside.

That just changes the exposure, not the actual brightness

Actually jodyberry is correct, it doesn't affect the exposure at all, it just makes the screen easier to see in sunlight to take photos/videos.

There are screen protectors that will help with this issue but, I don't really like them because they make the display look grainy.

Except we're discussing the lack of brightness of the screen, not glare. I agree that the anti-glare screen protectors make the display look grainy.

All the more reason to carry two phones, an outside phone and an inside one. :)

I had a Maxx before and you could not read the screen in the sun at all. My Note actually is the best I have had so far for Sunlight visibility. I was actually shocked because of some reviews I had read, but it is very usable in full sun.

While outside I just noticed that if I crank the brightness all the way up and enable Auto Brightness, it will make the screen even brighter.
I was using Power Amp Music Player. It puts the album art and playback settings in the notification tray. I cranked the brightness all the way up. I then enabled Auto Brightness, and noticed that the album art got even brighter. I remember someone saying that Auto Brightness will allow you to achieve brighter results when enabled.

Thanks for the reminder- I read it somewhere else as well and forgot about the Auto setting making the display even brighter.
