Is there a way we can get the Visual Voicemail on the Nexus S? I see guides for the EVO and Inspire, but since this phone doesn't originally come with it. Is there another way otherwise required?

I didn't want to go try one of those guides without knowing if it is just a universal sprint phone thing.

Other than an app from the marketplace, I am thinking Google Voice is your only Sprint supported option... I use GV with the new Sprint partnership and absolutely love it...

I've heard some issues currently with it, so im not entirely eager to jump on it. I would only it for the Voicemail Features honestly.

The issues begin when you change something on your plan and the google voice code is removed... As long as you are aware of this, it is avoidable...

I'm more than slightly annoyed that GV lite doesn't work with the Nexus S 4G. It's all or nothing. On other phones you have the option to use conditional call forwarding to forward all un-answered calls to a GV voicemail account which can then be checked through the GV app. This is called Google Voice Lite. With the NS4G thats a no go. The app won't allow it. Lame.

GV Lite is the perfect solution for me because calls (inbound and outbound), SMS and MMS are all handled through the Sprint network. The only thing thats handled by google is the voicemail which results in visual voicemail without jumping through hoops or anything.

There are NO problems using it for just voicemail. If you have a GV number download the app and use it to set up for voicemail. There is no need to integrate with the GV/Sprint integration for just voicemail. I have been using GV for just voicemail for over a year. No sense in paying sprint for VVM when GV does it for free.

Thats lame, I would have used that. I just enjoy Visual Voicemail. Would it not work using the EVO VVM app?

PS Visual Voicemail is free from sprint, you have to pay if you want transcribing.

Although I'm using the Sprint/GV integration and really like it, that is disappointing that it can't just be used for voicemail on the NS4G. Limits one's choices for sure.

Can you not install the Sprint VVM apk and make it work?
Does someone need to modify the ROM for this to happen?
