Hi, I just need some input from someone who has experience with this phone; I am thinking about getting it myself.
I currently have an iPhone 3g on tmobile, and it takes some working, but eventually you can get the phone working on tmobile's prepaid network almost flawlessly without data.
As long as you are updated to the latest iPhone firmware, you have the ability to turn all cellular data off in settings, and use a program called SAMprefs to activate your iPhone with push certificates that WORK! It's really nice having access to push for all the applications, but I hate the iPhone's updated firmware because it slows down your phone so much. If you go back to the faster earlier firmware, the phone is great, but you can't turn off data or get push working.
If you don't have an iphone, then you might not know what I'm talking about, but my main question is: Can I get an HTC Vivid working with my tmobile prepaid plan correctly? I have the $15/mo plan where I get unlimited texting, but absolutely no data. If I buy an HTC Vivid and unlock it, will I be able to use the phone to it's full capabilities minus data? Are there settings to completely shut off cellular data and only use wi-fi? Also, if I enable these settings, will the phone's way of pushing data to applications (such as mail) still work?
