Voice, but NO DATA connection while inside apt.

I live on the first floor of my apartment building, and the building has 2 floors. While inside my apartment, I receive 5 bars of signal, and can use voice, but data does not work. Sometimes the voice connection will drop out though, and the connection is sporadic. I am unable to connect to the internet, send texts, etc. while inside the apartment. However, going outside, I am able to get a connection.

Always-on m obile data is ON. I've done 2 battery pulls, turned the phone off/on multiple times, and a hard reset. Still having the same problem.

Anyone else have ever experience the same issue?

That is a weird issue.
Especially because even with data off, texts can be sent.

Have you had other Sprint phones before in the same apartment? Do they have data capabilities?

Seems like it is an issue with your phone itself.
I would suggest contacting Sprint if no one here can assist you.

Check that thread out. A sprint rep assisted that person who had 4g coverage but no 4g.... apparently the method fixed it.
Try it with your data; can't hurt I guess. Well, scratch that. I don't know what it can do.

Yes, I had a Palm Pre before the HTC EVO with absolutely no signal attenuation issues inside the apartment.

I saw that thread, but I don't know the password for the ##3282#.

As for sending texts, I am able to sometimes, but data connection definitely does not work inside the apartment.

Also, the mobile network setting under wireless and networks is stuck on "Turning on..."

ok, so i took the phone to the sprint store and explained the issue to them. the techs did a signal test and everything was working properly. however, the said that they are experiencing some technical difficulties on my side of town with the cellular tower, and that many other people with the HTC EVO are having the same issue.

so the issue is not with the phone, but with the tower.

Go ahead and call Sprint. Hopefully you get a smart Sprint rep... call from another phone obviously.

I normally don't have the problem, but I did notice it tonight when I was at a Pirates' game at PNC Park. I got full bars and was able to get incoming calls, but data was SLOOOOOOW. Everywhere else, 3G is fine. Is that a case of Sprint congestion at the ballpark (which would be weird, considering most other people in Pittsburgh have Verizon or AT&T)?
