Voicemail notification

Hi Guys,
First post so please be gentle. Any one know how to get a visual voicemail icon for s3? All i have is a small silver coloured tape recorder in the status bar. I find this difficult to see, especially outside on bright sunny days. My HTC One X would have the same symbol, but this would be displayed right across the centre of the screen.I don't want an audible notification, or conversion to email, just a decent sized icon in the main screen. I can't even find very much in the play store.The phone is on the the UK network O2.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Not aware of any way to do that. You might want to look at the application Lightflow, which will let you set a custom LED color, and flash pattern if you want, for a VM notification.

If your voicemail is done through an app where you can put an icon on your homescreen, then you can use Nova Launcher and Missed It (app) to give you a badge notification. See this thread:

There is also a great app for voicemail that has a widget:

I have visual voicemail through ATT, and the icon for the app displays in the notification bar by default.
