Is there any way to increase volume linearly, like on my ipod?

All of my sounds seem to have preset outputs. For example, the media volume has 15 settings, and the ringer has 5 or 6 volume settings. For media, I typically listen to radio at its lowest level on my ipod, just for some background music, but quiet enough that I can hear people around the office if they need something. The lowest stock setting on my media player is even louder, wish I could take it down a notch or two. Perhaps there's a different type of player that will allow this... I'm using slacker radio.

A quick and dirty fix might be to buy some cheap headphones and just use those as tiny speakers. On the music players loudest setting, I'm sure that you would be able to hear anything that is going on.

The other option would be to check the market for an app that would fit your needs. I know that PowerAmp has many options to adjust the output volume.
