Vzw G2 update near.

After thinking about it, im betting the stock browser i installed is causing problems. I'll chime in later when home to fix it.

I'm still getting the error - did you need to change permissions to either the apk or odex after restoring them?

Thanx in advance
No I did not. I did do a reboot before I tried the update. Hopefully you did do that before you tried the update again.

Is it just my phone or are others seeing a little snappier performance since the update? This thing is just whizzing through everything I throw at it, web pages, home screens, app loading, etc.

UPDATE:

Deleted the LGBrowser and pushed the Provider files back and update is rolling smoothly. This was after fixing the Wifi Provisioning to stock as well.

Yep. 24 hours with this update and the phone is performing perfectly.

24 hours for me now, and it's been perfect so far regarding the erratic screen behavior.

But it can take weeks for this issue to re-occur, so I we can't claim victory just yet.

Here's hoping!!

I did, thank you for responding.
I wound up flashing back to stock ( I wanted the free $50 for signing up with Amex Serve through ISIS, and it won't install if you're rooted)

placebo effect . . . :p

I wish Verizon would hurry up and get KitKat. Apparently LG is pushing out 4.4 to LG G2 Korean customers today.

Don't be in such a rush for KitKat. Got it on my Nexus 7 tablet and it is really no big deal.

Same here I got KitKat on my nexus and I still don't see what the fuss is all about., it is the exact same thing as 4.3 and 4.2

Kitkat will allow Google Wallet "tap & pay". That is the only functionality I'm missing from my GNex.

Go isis and get $50 credit

Tried isis and used a few bucks from it. The free 50 isn't bad at all but having to have one of the select credit cards or loading money to a "serve" card is just doesn't work for me and is inconvenient

Biggest pain I encountered was the update now makes google maps a core product so I lost the ability to remove v7 and replace with last working v6. Really miss saving search results to contacts...among other loss features.

I just got the OTA pushed to me today (wow, I seem to be way behind). I'm going to wait til tonight or tomorrow to do the update, but I wanted to know what to expect. Here is what I've heard from this thread:

Google Maps version change
Fixed Lock Screen (knock-on works better)
erratic screen behavior fixed
updated camera app
More responsive/snappier
GPS possibly worse?

Does that about sum it up? Anything to add or remove to that list?

I just got my G2 and I love thus phone. No problems with the screen as of yet. Hope it stays that way

Screen issues seem to have disappeared for nearly everyone once Verizon pushed out the 12B update.
