Vzw hates that you have unlimited data

Who cares about free talk and text anyway? If Verizon takes away my unlimited data it won't matter one bit to them but they just lost a customer paying upwards of $1100.00 a month. I have my family and my business through them and I will drop both. I can pay the basic for the business with any provider and I may try the 49.99 unlimited everything with Smart Talk...anyone have info on them?

Mr Smith it is pointless to argue with him. Although we see our data as part of our plans he does not. Not sure what his point is. I even tried in another forum to correct peoples understanding and found it was a waste of time.

And lol. That's cool you pay that much for cell service. Not that it matters. Does it make you more special than any other Verizon customer?

Verizon isn't taking anyone's unlimited data plan away. Sure, they're making it hard to keep that plan. But again, no one is being forced to give up unlimited data. And no one is being forced to by a new phone through Verizon. And no one is being forced to renew or sign up with Verizon.

That said, if Verizon tried to force me off of my unlimited data plan, I would leave too. There are other carriers that I could go to.

Verizon is getting a lot of bad press about their new Share Everything plan. But if it doesn't severely affect their bottom line negatively, there would be no reason for Verizon to adjust their stance.

Not wanting to be a fanboy or bash any viewpoint but here is my story. I have a business plan that I pile my family on to as well. My techs can languish on hold for an entire battery sometimes, and I promise the numbers of support are not on a friend plan. With the new plan I thought OK I'll get a better deal and add some jetpaks but the Verizon rep said the data share stopped at 10 GB. That was a deal breaker, I decided to wait it out. The market will set the price point and it will all get worked out in the end. I think we and the carriers know that the word "unlimited" well never be used in future plan descriptions, till they force the change, rock on.

I am not sure about business plans but regular non business customers can get shared data plans of 20gb if they want.

I was told that the chart keeps going in the same increments of $10 per 2GB by a mall reseller store. When I went to the "official" Verizon store the clerk said resellers are idiots and never believe them, "it is 15 per GB after that". When someone is off by that much I hit the brakes and did nothing. Who's the idiot now, I was ready to get two jetpacks and change plans on five phones.

There are a lot of clerks who do not know what is going on and give bad information. Unfortunately they can cost a company business like the one that gave you the information that is causing you to take your valuable business elsewhere.

He was mistaken and thought of the overage charged. Its $15 per GB if you go over your limit. Its $10 for each additional 2 GB when you set up the service plan.

You can't sign up for more than 10GB initially (at least not through retail channels) but there are additional plans on the web up to 20 that you can change to via My Verizon or calling customer service after the fact.

It's not completely the reps fault, Verizon's own training literature is inconsistent. I've seen 2 different docs on only does the up to 10 (plus the ability to add data in 2GB increments as needed) and one shows the plans up to 20GB for $150.

Data blocks of $10/2GB are available above the $100 / 10GB plan upon request (up to 20GB for $150)

The only reason it affects other people is because Verizon watches the use and they want to cripple hogs. They will continue to find ways to attempt this, and that screws the lighter users. People blame the hogs, but ultimately it's Verizon being morons

Straight Talk is not unlimited(I googled "Smart Talk" and couldn't find anything, so I'm assuming you meant Straight Talk). They limit you to 100mb/day or 2g per month before they shut your service off. Also, under their terms and conditions, using Pandora or Netflix is not allowed; also, there is no tethering. The plan seems great at first (and it is for people who don't use their phones for everything), one will realize that the average user will not benefit from it. I was thinking about switching until I actually read their legal info.
