VZW Package Installer?

Will disabling the "VZW Package Installer" in the application manager prevent the OTA, which has already downloaded, from being able to install? Right now I keep having to defer the install.
I have no issues with my phone, and I see no point in installing one of their updates, which usually do more harm than good.
I am fully stock - unrooted and locked.

I don't think it does.
I do have to say that mine is getting better battery life and my sbeam is faster and more reliable with the latest update. No issues with any part of the update. Plus the USSD exploit fix is in the update.
I also do factory resets with every update I have ever gotten. Its not usually necessary but its just habbit for me.
