Does the VZW Rezound software update page always say "Coming soon! http://m-support.verizonwireless.com/system_update/rezound.html

Never looked at it so couldnt tell you, but if its a change it could be good news. Im not getting my hopes up though. April will be the absolute earliest we will think about seeing ICS im afraid.

Speaking of update we're supposed to get ICS the first part of the year and now I read it will be by the end of the year. That is a load of crap. I would have waited for the Nexus if I knew HTC would not follow through.

I know I can root. I am need to android ant it is something I am looking into.

Sent from my Rezound using Taptalk

I don't know who supplied that information to you but plastic can't rust. I assure you, you'll be rust free a year from now :p

Funny you mentioned the Nexus. This is another classic case of history repeating itself. Question: What was the most infamous phrase of the Nexus pre-release? Hint: It was discussed endlessly by those awaiting the vanilla release by Verizon and is continuing right now for non Nexii? Answer: ICS is coming later this year. You should know by now that Verizon loves to supply vague info. to reel you in. Unfortunately our carriers timeline rarely matches up w/ the date things are made available from Google and/or the device manufacturer.

I've repeated this dozens of times, but it still rings true;

Never. Ever. Ever. Ever. Trust any corporation's word on when something will be delivered.

Examples:
- Motorola will be unlocking bootloaders by the end of 2011
- Gingerbread is coming to (device name) this quarter
- HTC Merge coming to Verizon

The point is, never bet on a promise or guarantee on when that OS is coming. If you want it now, and it is available now, go for the option that has it now. I knew HTC was blowing smoke up our asses with promises of ICS. Luckily for them, they had me at hardware.

I don't think I was thinking rusting, but my fat thumbs like to put words in where they don't make sense. :-)
