in my experience with VZW, your situation is a rare one indeed. the fact that they basically "jumped you to the front of the line" is pure luck. Given the same situation with 100 other VZW'ers, they would keep feeding us Tbolts, or whatever phone you had. I had 3 replacement Eris' phones, and everytime I mentioned getting a different phone (even if I paid the difference) I was denied with extreme prejudice!! I'm glad to see that some of us can "upgrade" in a situation like this, but as a general rule, it's not going to happen, no matter how much you jump up and down. NOW.....good luck with that Nexus, I work with two people who have them. let's just say they wish they would have gone Razr or even Bionic. i hope your unit is exempt from the flaws that I see and hear about daily.
Yep. Twenty three years is a long time alright. Especially since Verizon began operations in 2000.Maybe because I have been with them about 23 years...
I checked out a Nexus at a VZW store and it felt kind of cheap. I expected more for $300. I like the feel of my $50 Thunderbolt much more. Not that anyone cares...haha

sounds like a person who thinks that when things feel heavy they are sturdy or better built. This phone is the cream of the crop. Just y'all wait and see.
Samsung phones are GARBAGE!!!

Love my nexus. Signal is just fine, and call quality is good enough for a phone call. Would I listen to music over the phone? No. Its a good thing I'm making phone calls over the phone after all. Battery life is hard but you know that story with a bolt. Over all I really like my nexus.
No reasearch required here. I started with a company that "became" Verizon about 16 years ago myself. That's why I knew when they became Verizon.I hear this a lot. Verizon is the culmination of mergers and stuff. Being a customer of a merged company counts enough to protect some one from being mocked in a pointless and shameful manner. Had to go do research and reference your point? That borders on trolling.

Actually, a large 'brick' of a phone DOES fit my hand better. Most people have smaller hands then I do, or simply may prefer thinner phones. I like large and heavy. Thankfully there are choices, unlike the iPhone. Those iSheeple don't have a choice.
Apparently so.Did I really need to explain to you companies buy each other out?

I've been through this dance before with VZW. His situation isn't all that rare, it's just a combination of having a helpful tech, being polite, and not asking for a new phone. I went through 3 Eris' and never mentioned getting a different phone, I just told them I wanted an Eris that works. After the 3rd one crapped out the tech just said "it seems like you're having a lot of problems with this phone in general, would you like something different" of course I said yes and that was that. I've heard of it happening to multiple people, but the moment you make it seem like the reason you're calling is to get a different phone, they shoot you down.

Your assumptions are incorrect. It's the finish and edges that felt cheap. I have large hands and I prefer the feel of the TB. And I don't doubt that three Gnex is a nice phone. For me it wasn't worth the extra $250.

That was exactly my experience too. (Read above, the original 23 years with "Verizon" poster.![]()

No I did not. Read much?...then you say that you've been with vzw for 16 years yourself.
