VZW's Car dock has NO 3 pin connection.?

I was so excited to get the charging car dock. I had never used a car dock before since I always felt my screen was too small. But now with the Nexus I think it could work....But of course we get screwed with a crappy dock. Really need someone to try that GSM version to see if it works

The one Verizon has pictured on their site definitely shows the version that has the contact charging. I ordered one from them, so we'll see if the one I get is different.

Sorry guys, it's what the guy in the store showed me at the verizon store. he assured me it had the contact charging and plugs in the base. Perhaps he was lying to get the sale?

According to mobile city online website, the SKU is: ECSK1F8BEGSTA and google that sku, you get this: Gallery - Cell Phone Accessories ECS-K1F8BEG | Samsung Cell Phones that looks like the same as VZW has.

That's some good work, boys. Also note the Verizon Model number: "SAMI515MNT". From your link, the Title of the product is "Galaxy Nexus™ i515 Vehicle Navigation Mount" Seems to match up to me.

Man, this is so disappointing that VZW would pawn that piece of crap off on us Yanks. This is one of the main reasons I'm getting a GN.

Thanks for the model of the UK version, but $78+ overseas shipping (current going price on several different sites) sure is a lot to pay for a car dock. I sure hope somebody can get us this model for a reasonable price sometime soon.

That's the one that I ordered. I was following a thread somewhere else where a couple of people spoke with someone at Fommy. They assured them that the dock had a power and 3.5" connection on the dock. They also assured them that it would work with the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus.
I guess I will find out some time just after Christmas since it is supposed to ship on the 23rd.

Thanks, I ordered that one also. i was wondering if it would work with the Verizon model. I also ordered the media desk dock. I ordered the cheap Verizon one for my other car.

I'm still skeptical on whether or not this dock will fit the verizon model as the thickness is different. they could have tested it and it did fit, but maybe after driving it will shift out of contact with the pins, etc..

That is the same one I bought from the VZW store and returned it over the weekend. Over at XDA the GSM version costs much more. Still trying to find if the LTE will fit in the GSM version.
