VZW's Car dock has NO 3 pin connection.?

I also want an OEM dock with the 3 pins, however, the VZW dock is decent and I'll use it till something better comes along.

Same here, I will probably move the VZW dock into my home office for a desk dock. Since I have a glass desk it should work pretty good.

I also brought back my car dock. One big thing that I didn't like about it that I have not seen anyone else complain about is how you need to push on the screen to get it in the dock. Why would you design a dock like that?

I've only had one car dock before this one, which was for the Bionic but it was perfect. You "set" the phone into the dock and then there is a latch that comes down to secure the phone. Far better design. Plus it has the pin connector.

Yeah, the only thing that this dock has going for it is simply that it's available.

I too hate the push into the dock design. much prefer my OG Droid dock where it clipped it.

I agree about the Bionic dock being better but, the one I got didn't utilize a 3-pin connector.

You're kidding! What a complete waste of time and resources. Coming from a OG Droid car dock interfacing with the car speakers, this is unacceptable.

VZW, has got to be loosing customers over this. I'm amazed. Would like to get my hands on the executive that said it's okay to release a cutting edge phone with an archaic car doc.

For anybody who's been asking, it looks like Expansys has confirmed that the GSM car doc will not work with the VZW version. This from their pre-sale page,

On XDA people with the GSM version fits in the VZW car dock, so I would think it works the other way around too. The cases are supposed to be universal too. 0.5mm isn't that big of a difference.

I don't think it quite works that way. It would make sense for the GSM version to fit into the CDMA one, because it's slimmer than the CDMA one. It would be illogical for the CDMA version to fit into one that is made for a slimmer phone.

Were the LTE specs not finalized in time?
