Wait... Beats audio works with any headphones?

I took a risk and plugged some cheap ear buds into my Rezound. The Beats audio system on the phone activated. I thought it only worked with the Beats ear buds. Or am I just getting half the benefit? I turned Beats on and off, there was a difference.

Beats is a DSP, it will work with anything. Supposedly the Beats headphones are better than ordinary headphones. Beats(music enhancer) will only currently work with the stock music app.

I hooked the phone up to my sound system via audio jack, and man, them beats sound good. I guess you could get that with any equalizer app, but since I know nothing about equalizers, plug and chug works for me.
