My V10 boot looped, and T-Mobile is sending a G5 as replacement.
I'm eligible for a JUMP upgrade - should I hold on to the G5 and wait for the V20?
Or should I ditch LG for good (after G2, G3, V10)?
Curious why they gave you G5.
I don't know how to answer your question because I'm on the fence even though I never owned a G4 or V10. I have a G5 and haven't too many issues but its young yet.
The bootloop stories worry me a bit but as long as LG makes good on it I'm not to concerned.
Anyone know if they make good after the warranty runs out?
Lg covered my G4 with bootloop and it was about one month past warranty. I'm hoping the V20 isn't gonna have the problem and it was only an issue with the sd808 phones
Mine also BL'd(AT&T) and they tried to give me a G5, but i refused and accepted another v10. IMHO, you should wait for v2. I haven't heard of a repeat BL, so I'm still curious what actually caused it. But it seemed to occur almost simultaneously across multiple carriers due to something that was pushed out.My V10 boot looped, and T-Mobile is sending a G5 as replacement.

Did the bootloop issue not come up on the G5 because it's on an 820? Was this an 808 problem or an LG problem?
I have heard of it happening on the G5 but not anything major....also Bootlooping is not exclusive to LG phones.
So basically every LG model bootloops in some phones. Very very odd problem cannot be found and fixed.
I have only ever seen discussion of the G4 and the V10 as far as "more than just a few" bootlooping. Other phones by any manufacturer can boot loop, but the G4 and V10 seemed to have a higher incidence rate than the others. We know V10 and G4 did. Which models do not?
No bootlooping G3 nor G5?I have only ever seen discussion of the G4 and the V10 as far as "more than just a few" bootlooping. Other phones by any manufacturer can boot loop, but the G4 and V10 seemed to have a higher incidence rate than the others.
I haven't heard about recurrent cases of bootlooping in Sammy phones in unmodified condition. Usually it's a rooted phone or a screw up trying to root the phone. Just seems that once found the bootlooping issue would be prevented from going to v10There may have been a few instance of the G3 or G5 but nothing that makes them any different than any other phone. Every phone could have a problem, some are just more reliable than others, and the G4 and V10 appeared in discussion more often then any other phone when boot loop was the problem.
Given the release date of the V10 relative to the G4, I'm guessing that the V10 manufacturing process was already setup by the time the G4 problem was discovered and (hopefully) solved. So it's understandable why the V10 could develop a similar issue as well.Just seems that once found the bootlooping issue would be prevented from going to v10
