Can I simply review the apps with highest CPU to identify what's waking up the phone, or are they 2 different things?

I'm getting worse battery since kitkat on my Galaxy Note 3 (still better than my S3), but no where near as awesome as it was before the upgrade.

I was draining at 2.5% or 3% per hour over-night. This got it to 1.25% / hour which is better, but I've severely reduced the functionality of the phone. The wipe-cache I just did so I won't know till tomorrow if that helped.

I've read through the forum, and did a bunch of stuff including:
  • turning off nearly 30 apps which came with my phone (including google plus and hangouts, ,)
  • uninstalled skype and instragram
  • stopped the wifi searching / advanced wifi
  • turned off gps, wifi, bluetooth
  • turned off location services (settings | connections | locations) (stops life360 from getting location of other family members - not good)
  • changed exchange to poll every 15 minutes instead of push
  • disabled lookout
  • made sure all apps were up to date
  • confirmed security level = normal
  • turned power saving mode on in settings| general [won't know till tomorrow]
  • wiped cache [ won't know till tomorrow]
  • turned back on location but changed mode: settings | location | mode= power saving instead of high accuracy, enabling life 360 to work [won't know till tomorrow]
  • disabled google drive, google play services, google maps [won't know till tomorrow]

Well, something in the batch of changes I made last night got me back to the 0.3% / hour overnight I enjoyed initially.

To recap: this is what I did last night:
  • turned power saving mode on in settings| general [won't know till tomorrow]
  • wiped cache [ won't know till tomorrow]
  • turned back on location but changed mode: settings | location | mode= power saving instead of high accuracy, enabling life 360 to work [won't know till tomorrow]
  • disabled google drive, google play services, google maps [won't know till tomorrow]

Of these, I bet it was disabling: "disabled google drive, google play services, google maps "

I just enabled these and will report back.

BTW, I just looked at my other Note 3 which somehow was already set to location power -saving, so it wasn't just that. I just wiped that cache (no other changes). I'll check on that one later and report back.

Before Kit Kat you were also on Wifi the entire time. That equates to an enormous battery saving vs cellular.

why'd u turn push email notifications off? push is the best of both worlds. it saves battery versus polling since it's told when to download email instead of checking every x minutes 24 hrs a day.
