Wall paper images

Every time I try to use a picture on my phone as a wall paper the image is so large that it will not fit the screen. I try to crop the picture but it does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you trying to crop it?

I open the crop section and move the boxes to what I think will work. It never does!
