Uh no. They're asking for a $5 fee so the customer can get THEIR money that they loaded up themselves back. There's something wrong with that.

Please stay out of the investment market. It's probably not for you guys.
End of story.
Or, they're like me, and put their own money on the prepaid card and are now being charged a fee to get it back.

Step 1. You got Google Wallet which gave you $10 free.
Step 2. You added $100 of your own money. This plus the free money equals $110.
Step 3. You are closing down your account. They are charging you $5.
Step 4. $110-$5=$105.
Step 5. You get $105 added to your bank account.
You made $5!
To look at it in banking terms....If you put $100 into the account, you have earned 5% interest on your account in a month or so for letting your money sit there.
If you started with zero and they were taking $5 of the money YOU added, then you would have an argument worth listening to. You are complaing because they are only letting you keep half of the free money they gave you.

Of course I spent it, hence the reason I added my own. Don't try to pull the BS 'well you're not really out $5' because you still will be.
Your not getting it dude (face palm) just tell Google to keep their 10 dollars they gave you and refund your money sans the fee....now your out 10 dollars, your money or not. So like the guy said, don't try investing

I tend to agree with the guy complaining about the $5.00 fee. Was this disclosed in the original Terms of Service Agreement when Wallet was installed? I am assuming it was. If it was, then fine. Nobody reads TOS (see South Park) but if it's in there, then it's a valid fee.
I don't agree with the argument claiming that Google "gave you $10 so you made $5". The $10 fee was used as a promotional tool for people to try Google Wallet. I'm guessing Google's promo pages don't say "Try Wallet and get $10 added to your account on us. If you don't like it, we will take $5 back from you."
The $5 fee that MoneyNetwork is charging is an entirely separate matter from the $10 promo Google issued.

But how is he losing money? If he put 20 dollars on his card and they charged 15 to get it back, then I would understand. But in reality he had a total of 30 dollars. 10 of it he didnt earn.
Promotional tool doesn't mean requirement to use.

The only argument regarding the fee of $5 should be whether or not it was disclosed in the original TOS when you signed up. Done.

So what happens if he never spent the 10 dollars and never added money. Are you suggesting that he has the right to call ask for the money that was given to him for free? Because its not in the TOS he can request money that he never had in the first place.
