I am use to my BB storm just being able to reformat the photo that I took perfectly and plant it on the screen. On my Incredible, I have to crop it and its always a square, never a long vertical rectangle (like the screen). Is there an app that can automatically do wallpaper resizing or whatever that can make it easier?
This wallpaper cropping thing sucks! No matter what I do (making the images as small as I can), it STILL gives me a square, not a vertical rectangle! Even when I crop them the resolution ends up getting really bad and the picture looks like crap. If anyone has insight on how to fix this or what to do that would be great!

The screen resolution for this phone is 960x800. So if you want you can play around with any photo editing software (photoshop, paint, whatever) and resize your wallpaper photo to 960x800 and you should be good.

p.s. It's 960 wide by 800 tall, not the other way around or it won't let you select the whole photo...

Also, the crop square is adjustable. You can re-size it in the Select Wallpaper dialog.

Hope this helps.

I was coming to post the same question when I discovered this and another (more unrelated) thread, and I finally get it.

Even though the screen itself is portrait, it makes you crop it to be a landscape (although a very squarish landscape) because as you flip through your 7 screens, it pans through the photo. So your photo is the height of the screen x the width of 7 screens (ish).

Ugh, I hate this feature. I wish it could be disabled, as I'd rather have the same, nicely fitted, good resolution image on all of the screens. I'm using a photo I took with the Incredible's camera, so it's frustrating that I essentially can't make the device work well with ITSELF.
