Putting expensive filters over a DSLR's lens (or film SLR) is something that is routinely debated, as ANY extra GLASS surfaces can be detrimental to image quality. I wouldn't put ANY kind of film over an already MARGINAL camera lens on any cell phone or P&S. IQ is already bad enough!

having said that, I DO personally use UV filters on my expensive lenses MOST of the time, for the obvious reasons. For super critical shots, I remove any unnecessary filters.
And what you are proposing--a "glare resistant film" would be the WORST kind of covering one could imagine, other than something smeared with peanut butter.
