Alright, I really want the tab 10.1. I love android. I was messing with a Xoom and the original Galaxy Tab, and I say I really like them - but the Galaxy Tab was too small and the Xoom... is, well, a Motorola product. I liked the keyboard for the Tab - it was really nice, and worked well.

My question is tho - I found the Transformer by Asus, and really like the fact that it has a keyboard and can be hinged onto a mouse+keypad.

Now I hate laptop mouse pads. Is it going to be possible to use a bluetooth mouse+keyboard with the Galaxy Tab 10.1? That's the only thing really worrying me right now!

And does this thing output HDMI? Does it have a MicroSD port (for the wifi version)?

The Tab doesn't have a microSD port, but it will sell a dongle you can attach to the charging port to use a microSD card. You'll have the same option with and HDMI. Those are the two negatives of the Tab, but I think they were sacrificed so that Samsung could make the "world's thinnest" claim.

I will say that in my own usage, I don't think a microSD cart slot would be that big of a deal with this. On my phones, the biggest chunk of my storage usage came from my music collection and from Nandroid backups (because my phones are always rooted)
-I don't plan on rooting this thing, at least not until there is some true advantage to doing so, or if rooting is the only way to try touchwiz and roll back.
-Google Music Beta is AMAZING. Full stop. AmazonMP3 is a great product as well, but Google gives you the ability to pin music/playlists which makes syncing a breeze.

As for HDMI, I don't see myself using it as much, though like I said, the option is there (though it requires an extra adapter) One of the things I am looking forward to with the Touchwiz update is it should bring DLNA support to the tab, which I do use quite a bit.

I had the transformer before this. I liked it a lot, but I had to return it because of physical defects, and by that time I had played with a tab and loved the thinner form factor. But the Transformer is still a great choice, especially if you plan on getting the dock.

The tab should work with a bluetooth keyboard. haven't tried a mouse yet. That being said, It's running stock HC which doesn't really play well with mice. Asus did customize their version of HC to make it place nice with the dock.

In addition, you get the joy of Samsung Support.

haha... I have a Samsung Camera that the screen cracked two times. Samsung support actually extended the warranty the first two times, but when it cracked again they refused.. so I ended up buying the LCD on ebay and fixing it myself, no problem since. Never really dealt with any company that had good tech support, honestly.

I had the same issue deciding what to get but was choosing between the acer and tab, played with acer and the weight difference is huge... I do get tired holding the tab i cant imagen using anything heavier...
I love the tab and im really planing to get most of my media from cloud serverces 16gb will do for apps and some offline media :-)

I came so close to buying the Xoom on several occasions but decided to hold outfor the GT10.1. I just got it this afternoon (Amazon with 1 day shipping) and I am thoroughly glad I waited. Other tabs, such as the Acer, are nice but I must agree that one HUGE plus for the GT10.1 is the weight. Fits in the hands nicely and light enough to hold, play, scroll and type on all day. I am still blown away at how slim it is as well. I wish it had microSD but I also have all of media cloud and homeserver based so 32GB ought tobe plenty. The only big thing that do not like (nay, hate!) about the GT10.1 is the proprietary 30 pin connector. I have tons of microUSB chargers and connectors around for my Evo and now I will need to buy all new ones for my new tablet. Eventually cheaper (than OEM) alternatives will be available online in Markets like eBay but still disapointed on Samsungs decision there, but I guess they have to make money too!

IMHO: The Samsung GT10.1 is the hottest and most advanced tab out there right now and totally worth the money if you are already in the market.
