Warning about flights...

The most important thing to take away from this thread is to not take a swim with your Gear S on and it won't get water in it. There's zero need to take the watch in a pool. Seriously........

So you could use the Gear S to time your swimming laps, check your heart rate, respond to emails, watch your facebook post blow-up and make underwater phone calls, well if the watch was IP68.

Agreed!

I used Airplane mode while in the air so that I can keep track of time and fitness stats. The watch uses very little power in this mode. There is no need to power it off.

I don't remember if the Gear fit had airplane mode but I will definitely try it on my Gear S the next time I fly.

The only thing Gear Fit emits is Bluetooth signal. So if you disable BT, it is all you need :) For my wife's Gear Fit, I disabled BT for her full time as she has no need for it:) It saves a lot of battery.
