Ordered from Play Store. I have the screen flicker issue (flicker occurs with brightness turned down, and a weak wi-fi signal), and at 100% charge, the battery widget reports I only have two hours of battery power. Called Google, and my request for a return was sent to a "specialist" and I should hopefully have a reply by tomorrow (that would be the end of the 48--hour deadline they set). I'm a little scared by the customer service stories I've heard, so I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes. It's too bad, because it is an impressive device. Let's hope Google's customer service is up to snuff, because that's how you keep pace with your competitors.

No message from Google within the 48-hour time frame on my defective Nexus 7. I spoke to customer service and was told there was "no way" they can look at my case, but they assure me that "people are working on it" but that they can't access their system, as they work off sit. I told the young man that it's merely a device replacement, and why should an RMA take so long? He told me that I shouldn't have been promised a response within 48 hours, and that I should be concerned if it takes three weeks. Naturally, I was upset. He told me that their customer service is like a newly forming planet, so I should accept a poor response time. Worse, he said that if I escalated my issue, I would be put in the back of the line. Google, my advice: You want to run with the big boys, you better step it up, or you're dead in the hardware industry.

Finally got my replacement, (c80) and...screen flicker. I'm doing a straight return, and will purchase a new one from a retailed to avoid Google's poor quality customer service.

Mine's free of defects except minor screen lift/creaking.

Mine was in perfect condition, but I returned it when I saw that the 32GB model was coming out.
Hope the 32GB model I get, perhaps next week when released, will be in perfect condition as well.

I had an 8 Gig for a week that was perfect, took it back a week later for a 16 Gig that was also perfect. Both were purchased from my local Staples store.

Had some problems from the get-go--e.g. incorrect battery indicator, system apps freezing and shutting down, etc. but it worked fine like, 85% of the time so I didn't want to return it. a factory reset and a hard reset cured like 95% of the issues, so it's all good now. I still get things like screen flicker and it has a hard time connecting to unsecured networks, but it's no biggie.

It's as good as I need it to be, and I'd rather hold onto it than subject my poor device to ASUS repair hell lol.

16GB, about 3 weeks ago from Walmart, went the first week defect free. Less than a week later the screen lifted ever so slightly, but it's just cosmetic. Everything else is top notch here

EDIT: Bit of light bleed on the bottom right corner and top left, but only noticeable on black screens in dark rooms. Still good here :thumbup:

Just got the a110. The nexus 7 has a far superior screen but I'm liking the a110 with jelly bean. The a110 has horrible viewing angles and text looks dull. But Micro sd slot and HDMI out is more important to me.

I think there maybe something wrong with my Nexus 7. If I hold it on it sides with one hand and move my forearm up and down, I can feel and hear something shift. If I perform the same action but hold it by pinching the glass and back, it feels and sounds solid. It maybe the glass separation issue I've read about, but there isn't any give when I push down on the glass, at least none that is apparent. Should I exchange it or is this "normal"? Thanks.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I exchanged my Nexus 7 and no longer have the issue described above. The frame around the glass is even all around as opposed to my original where the glass was higher one one edge.

I had a 16 GB and a 32 GB both in perfect condition no lift and no screen issues what so ever.
